Visit us at PAX South!

We’ll headed down to San Antonio, TX this week for PAX South running from Jan. 12th-14th. It’s the first convention we attended as Carolina Game Tables, and it holds a special place in our hearts. For those who didn’t know, PAX South is a strong tabletop game convention with hundreds of tables in the freeplay area and a Tabletop Indie Showcase where you may find games you weren’t aware of.

PAX South

If you’re attending, please stop by, say “Hi” to Clint & Jodi, and get a chance to see our tables in person. We’ll have the Dining Game Table, the Kitchen Game Table, the Coffee Game Table, and of course, the Streamer Game Table. You can also see our Chairs and Side Table/Benches as well.

Carolina Game Tables is at Booth #10453 in the main Exhibit Hall at PAX South!

Streamer Sale!

Thinking about buying a Streamer Game Table and beginning or expanding your video streaming? We’re offering a $200 discount to help you take the leap!

Tax Changes

We’ve consulted with our accountant team about the new tax changes recently signed into law. The new tax code means deductions for businesses will be more beneficial in 2017 than 2018. This is true whether you’re working as a sole proprietorship, LLC, or Corp.

This is not intended as tax advice specific to your situation. Please consult your accountant.

To Sum Up

In other words, you might want to buy your equipment (camera and table) before the end of the year to make those deductions count—But check with your accountant like we did!

We’ll make it a little easier. Use the coupon “GetStreaming” at checkout for a $200 discount on any purchase of a Streamer Game Table. This offer ends January 2, 2018, at midnight Pacific Standard Time.

You will have the same options for paying a deposit or in installments as we usually offer. But remember, for the tax advantages you may want to pay in full for the price of the table. Sorry, we do not allow for pre-payment of delivery. We’ll invoice you for White Glove or freight delivery when the order is complete. Orders placed this week should finish in mid-May.

Again, please check with your accountant before springing into action on our advice. But if you’ve been on the fence…this might be best time to get streaming!

Helping Families Have the Best Gaming Christmas EVER

The holiday rush is upon us, and we have lots of tables shipping out to homes across the country. In the past week we’ve seen deliveries to MD, TX, IL, OH—and this week to CA, MN, CO, and FL. If you haven’t heard from us, we’re not mourning our Kickstarter. We’re helping families have the best gaming Christmas EVER and making plans for the new year!

Cabinet Kickstarter…Success?

The Cabinet Game Table Kickstarter didn’t fund, but to us that’s as much a success as if it did. The point was to determine if it was a viable design before investing more money in it. We not only saved money but got a better idea of what designs are most appealing. We’ll be able to channel that information and capital into our next design (already in the works; we hope to talk more about this after Christmas).

Save the Date (April 28) for International Tabletop Day!

We moved into our new offices this past year and it’s been great having a single location to work, show samples, and handle customer pick-ups (you knew picking up your table for free is an option, right?). We had an Open House last April and plan to celebrate our Open House anniversary each year in conjunction with International Tabletop Day on the last Saturday of April (save the date: April 28th!).

We love to have folks join us, and it’s a great idea to combine gaming with us and picking up a table. Here’s the kicker though, if you want to pick up your table on April 28th, we need the order in before the factory closes for Christmas on December 22nd.

That’s just two weeks away, so if you’ve been on the fence (or want to squeeze in one last ultra-present), it’s time to do it!

Here are some quick links for you, showing the 50% deposit required to place an order.

Your 50% balance is invoiced in March 2018, and if you cannot pick up your order—that’s free—we’ll invoice you for shipping once the table is complete (target April).

$450 deposit on a Coffee Game Table (the Coffee will probably fit in your backseat!)

$600 deposit on a Kitchen Game Table

$800 deposit on a Dining Game Table

$1100 deposit on a Tablezilla Game Table (you’ll need a trailer to take Zilla home…just fair warning!)

Convention Dates for 2018

The conventions this past year have been phenomenal with the added bonus of attending the very first PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia (a PAX dedicated to tabletop gaming). It was a great convention for us in many ways, and we can’t wait see what they have in store for next year.

2018 will also bring another first for us as Carolina Game Tables has its own space at Gen Con! Finally! As those who have attended the past two years know, we’ve shown there but under the banner of our friends at Studio 2 Publishing. This will mark the first year (of many we hope) where we will be listed in the program under our own name and space number. It’s a very competitive process to get into the Exhibit Hall at Gen Con, and we’re over the moon about finally getting our own spot on the map.

Shortly after Christmas, we kick off 2018 with PAX South in San Antonio, January 12-14. Check out the rest of our convention schedule here. We can’t wait to see you!

PAX Unplugged, Thanksgiving, and Cabinet Game Table Kickstarter Update!

We returned from PAX Unplugged believing we could settle back in only to realize we’re still running a Kickstarter and still have the Gold Cup Holder Promotion running, and—oh yeah—Thanksgiving! So to cover them all quickly…

Gold Cup Holders!

Jazz up your Carolina Game Table with gold colored cup holders! Place your order for a Dining Game Table, Streamer Game Table, or Tablezilla and note in the comments you want to “level up” to Gold for free! We don’t have enough room on the Coffee Game Table or Kitchen Game Table design to add cup holders (of any color), but those designs are still available to order!

PAX Unplugged

The convention was incredible. As usual, the PAX folks ran a terrific event without most of the issues a first year convention faces. We love PAX South and East (and I’m sure West and Australia are wonderful too but we’ve never had the pleasure of attending them…yet), but there was something about a PAX dedicated solely to tabletop gaming that was, well, literally a wish come true. We can only see PAX Unplugged becoming bigger and better with each passing year!

We want to thank Chuu and Andrew, our booth helpers for this convention—and proud owners of a Dining Game Table since February 2017! If we come to your city and you want to help with the Carolina Game Tables booth, please email [email protected]

Cabinet Game Table Update

We had a lot of folks asking about the Cabinet Game Table at PAX Unplugged, and even with only the old prototype to show off, we explained to everyone who asked how the table would be assembled (it felt like a million times, but that’s good!). On our return, we got some pictures from the factory of the final design in transition so it would be clear to everyone else as well. Check out the link to the Kickstarter Update here to see how it all comes together!

It may sound like a cliché, but we at Carolina Game Tables are thankful for all of you, our customers and supporters. We get to do something we love and hopefully make our fellow gamers happy while doing it. As a company, there’s nothing more rewarding than that. Thank you all for that opportunity!

The Cabinet at PAX Unplugged!

Hi all!

PAX Unplugged officially begins tomorrow (unofficially, folks are playing games in the lobby of the hotel right now), and we are here and set up for the show!

We have one of the prototype Cabinet Game Tables here. It’s the same as the cabinet from our current Kickstarter, just without the ability to convert to a table. If you want to see firsthand the quality of our factory’s work, check it out!

You can find us at Booth 349 with the Cabinet, a Coffee Game Table, a Kitchen Game Table, and a Dining Game Table. We’ll also be talking about our latest project for Pinnacle Entertainment Group (the Flash Gordon RPG Kickstarter launches Tuesday!).

And check out Game Trade Media at Booth 203 or watch on their Facebook page. They will be broadcasting all weekend from our Streamer Game Table!

Kickstarter backers at any of the Cabinet reward levels should stop by our booth (349) at PAX Unplugged for a free gift!

Check the map below for our locations…

Cabinet Game Table: Transforms from Cabinet to Table to Game Table!

More Than Meets the Eye!

The new Cabinet Game Table design allows for new options and yes, it transforms! (You add the sound effects) Last time we discussed how the table can attach to the front of the Cabinet with dual legs and a stretcher for maximum support.

We also mentioned that when not in use the table stores within the cabinet. Here’s how: the table is made up of two leaves which connect down the middle. When separated, one of the legs and half of the stretcher (which also connects in the middle) attach on one edge of a leaf to become carved trim. Each leaf then fits in a slot on the sides of the upper Cabinet with the carved trim facing out. The leaves are locked in place with a discrete bolt.

In short, the end result is simply a beautiful cabinet when the table is stored away.

Game Table in Disguise!

We thought that was pretty cool (and hope you agree), but then we realized the new design also afforded us a unique opportunity. Only one side of the table leaf is visible when stored in the Cabinet. We adjusted the design so the top is reversible to use either side!

Meaning…one side of the table is a gaming surface with a one-inch lip and fabric inlay.

That’s right, the new Cabinet Game Table is a game cabinet that transforms into a table and a game table!

Next week we’ll post more information about the Kickstarter, reward levels, etc. before the campaign begins on November 9th.

Please share with your friends so we can make this awesome Cabinet Game Table a reality!

PAX Unplugged Plans

Carolina Game Tables has a booth at PAX Unplugged!

Plan to stop by Booth 349 to see our Coffee Game Table ($899), Kitchen Game Table ($1199), and Dining Game Table ($1599, or $1749 with 6 cup holders). We’ll be on hand to talk about the new Cabinet design, but the sample for the new design is still in production–one reason we’re still showing off renders. The Streamer Game Table ($1999, or $2149 with 6 cup holders) will also be at PAX Unplugged in the Game Trade (Magazine) Media booth, Booth 203. Tablezilla? At 8 feet long and almost 5 feet wide, it’s just too big to transport easily to conventions. The price on Tablezilla is $2199, or $2399 with 8 cup holders added.

Don’t forget, we’re offering gold cup holders right now! Just make a note on your order. If you order a Game Table from our website and a Cabinet through the Kickstarter, they can ship together to save on your delivery costs!

Cabinet Game Table Preview: Table in Place! Also, Gold Cup Holders Continue!

Feedback from convention attendees at Gen Con and DragonCon on the Cabinet Game Table was pretty clear: make it easy to get to the shelves without the table in the way! Well, that’s easy. We redesigned the table so you can remove it when you don’t need it and put it back on when you do!

The Cabinet Game Table…Has a Table!

Our earlier design had the table fold down from the front like a Murphy bed. That was fast and easy, but with the table in place the customer had to reach over it to reach the upper Cabinet shelves.

Now the new Cabinet Game Table design lets you put the table in place when you want it, and store it within the Cabinet when you don’t. We’ll talk more later about where the table goes when you’re not using it, but check out the rendered image of the Cabinet Game Table with the table in place:

Removable Table

We think this is a great solution for extra table space when you need it most, and don’t want to set up a flimsy folding table.

The table top attaches to the Cabinet firmly and now has two legs and a connecting stretcher for greater stability. The smooth wooden table showcases our beautiful mahogany grain and is suitable for intimate dining, crafting, or (our favorite past-time) gaming!

The table surface measures 32.5″ wide and 44″ deep.

Gold Cup Holder Promotion Continues!

Don’t forget our popular Dining Game Table, Tablezilla, and Streamer Game Table have the option of gold cup holders during these weeks leading up to the Kickstarter!

Simply mention the gold cup holders in the Comments field of your order. If you forget, just email [email protected] or [email protected] and we’ll try to swap out gold for the standard black cup holders on your order.

The Coffee Game Table and Kitchen Game Table do not have room for cup holders, but they make an excellent addition to your home with the Cabinet Game Table!

Our Cabinet Game Table Kickstarter runs November 7th-27th, with orders expected to deliver in May 2018. Order your game table now and save on shipping both!

Save the Date: Cabinet Game Table Kickstarter Launches November 9th!

The new Cabinet Game Table design is nearly finalized and we’ve set a date for the Kickstarter!

Save the Date!

The Kickstarter for the Cabinet Game Table will run from November 9th through the 27th.

Since it would end on the Thanksgiving holiday we decided to extend longer than the original two weeks, and finish on Cyber-Monday for folks who might wait till the last minute. If you want to check out our last Kickstarter (the one we used to launch this business) go here.

New Cabinet Game Table Design

So, how about that new design? I don’t want to give too much away yet, but we have a render of what the newly designed cabinet will look like below.

The first thing you may notice is there is no door on the front (the part that originally lowered to become the table). That means when the table isn’t in use, it’s easy to access and display everything on the cabinet shelves and open the drawers.

We’ll provide more information on the table and other aspects of the new design in later updates, but for now, let us leave you with one super-cool feature we love and think you will too. The table will be reversible! It will have a flat wood top on one side (like originally designed, great for a small crafts area or dining) AND a gaming side on the other with a one-inch lip and fabric-lined play area interior. So your dice won’t fall off the table!

Yep, it’s not just a cabinet and one type of table, it has two options like our other game tables. “Game Tables for Real Life” to us means it’s great for everyday dining and use as well as for gaming. Our new cabinet design will embrace the same multi-functionality.

We should have renders showing the two variations in our next update, so keep a look out for it and thanks for all your support!

Gold Cup Holder Promotion Continues; Cabinet Kickstarter on Hold

The Gold Cup Holder promotion continues until supplies run out!

There is no upcharge for the gold-colored aluminum cup holders. Simply note at checkout whether you want gold or black cup holders.

This promotion is only available for the Dining, Streamer, and Tablezilla Game Table designs (we can’t put cup holders on the Kitchen or Coffee Game Table designs—the edge is too narrow).

Cabinet Game Table Kickstarter Delay

We traveled with the Cabinet Game Table to Gen Con and Dragon Con in August and September and saw a LOT of interest in it! People told us it was beautifully made and a high quality piece. But we think it can be even better.

We received great feedback and our design genius’s gears whirled with possibilities. Long story short, we’re taking the time to make the Cabinet Game Table as cool as possible. We don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

While we don’t want to give too much away until we have something we can show off, we will say this. We’re planning for the Cabinet Game Table to have a fabric-lined play area option in addition to the normal table top!

We hope to move quickly through the design process and not delay more than a couple of weeks if possible. We’ll post the latest news here on our website. If you have not already subscribed to our e-newsletter, you may want to, so the news comes straight to your email inbox. The newsletter is the fastest way to know when we launch the Kickstarter, too!

Thank you to the hundreds of people who discussed the Cabinet design with us at Gen Con and Dragon Con. It’s always useful to brainstorm possibilities, and WOW, we can’t wait to show you the new design!
